Evolution opened its doors in North Balwyn in 2007 and is the leading personal training facility in the Greythorn Shopping Centre.
Our philosophy is to make training fun in a non-intimidating environment so you feel comfortable working out and are motivated to maintain your training program. We include much variety in your program so you do not know what to expect when you come to train, instead you can be confident that you are receiving the best care and attention available.
Evolution is like one big family. Our members befriend and motivate each other to push to greater heights and get results whilst enjoying the process. We conduct regular workshops for our members to discuss various issues and we celebrate our members achievements.
Regardless of how good our programming may be, or how skilled our trainers are, if nothing changes…nothing changes. I urge you to take action and come down and experience what we have to offer you.

Evolution Fitness Philosphy
Evolution Fitness specialises in small group and personal training since opening its doors in Tannock Street North Balwyn apart of the Greythorn Shopping Centre in 2007.
Our commitment is to make training fun in a non-intimidating environment so you feel comfortable working out and are motivated to maintain your training program. We include variety in your programs to ensure you are getting the maximum benefits from your membership and so that both personal training and small group gym classes are always challenging and fun.
Evolution has a supportive culture with many founding members still apart of the Evolution “Family”. Our members befriend and motivate each other to achieve the results and goals of the individual whilst enjoying the journey.
The motto above our door which was adapted from many of our positive testimonials is that this gym is “my time” a time when its all about U.
Meet The Team
Alanna is the owner of Evolution Fitness Centre. With a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science as well as Certificate III and IV in Group Fitness and Personal Training, Alanna is passionate about health and fitness. She brings her extensive knowledge and eight years of experience as a trainer to every fitness and rehabilitation program she designs.
Alanna has competed in a number of sports but her true passion is horse riding which she still practices to this day, 22 years on. Needless to say, her core strength is a force to be reckoned with! We challenge you to beat her in an abdominal crunch off!
Alanna has helped numerous clients achieve their weight loss goals with one client losing an extraordinary 32kg. She also took a lot of pleasure and satisfaction in seeing a client reach their goal of completing their first ever 10km fun run and Alanna was by her side the whole 10km through. Helping a client with CIDP, a peripheral nervous system disorder, smash their Dead lift goal by 50kg to 110kg (this from a guy who had a complete stem cell transplant and had to learn how to walk again) was by far Alanna’s biggest thrill.
Alanna understands the fear that some people might have in taking the first step towards starting a gym program in an unfamiliar environment which is why she has created a place that is warm and welcoming and completely inspiring.
“I love to make fitness fun and non-intimidating. I have always been sporty but I’ve never been a size 6 and I know how intimidating larger gyms can be where everyone ‘looks the part’. This is why I love the family environment we have created at Evolution. We welcome any shape, size, fitness level, those with the latest Lulu clothing or the Kmart bargains – it doesn’t matter. As long as you are ready to take the first step to a better, healthier happier you, we will be ready to take you there. Steph is a passionate and energetic Pilates and Yoga instructor and has attained Certificate IV in both Fitness and Pilates. Steph exudes happiness and loves to make people smile; it’s hard not to be swept up in her positivity! Steph’s classes focus on building strength, aligning mindfulness, increasing flexibility and body conditioning. We are so excited to welcome Steph to our Evolution team.
